Bu hikayeye göre, Zeus’un bir sütannesi vardır. Zeus’un, İda ismindeki sütannesi, Zeus’a zarar vermesinden korkarak bir gün şeytanı kovar. Bu şeytanın 3 ayaklı olduğuna inanılır ve kaçarken bıraktığı ayak izlerinden bir tanesi İda dağının eteklerinde, bir tanesi Midilli Adasında ve bir diğeri de Şeytan Sofrasındadır.
