Ulus Republic Monument - Ankara
Located in Ulus Square. The monument was erected in 1927 as a gift of the Turkish Nation to the heroes of the War of Independence. There are two stylized wolf heads on the side. Two Turkish soldiers were portrayed on the front with one hand calling their friends to war and the other observing the horizon. On the right side of the hull, the relief is depicted in the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, while Atatürk and his friends depict it; On the left side is the invasion army, which salutes the glorious Turkish Flag. At the top of the hull, “Armies, your first target is the Mediterranean, Forward! Dumlupınar 1922 ”. Behind a plane tree toppled the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey represents a new young sapling springing from his body. The female figure carrying bullets on the back is a reminder of the heroism of Turkish women in the War of Independence. At the top, Atatürk is on horseback wearing the Commander in Chief dress.
