The salt deposits located 20 kilometers from the central accident and thought to have been operated since the Hittite period have the largest rock salt reserve in our country. Visitors who visit the cave, which is formed by the hollows opened with the ambition of capturing salt, consider themselves in the tunnel of modern highways. Approximately 100 hectares of Cave area has been quite a gallery. The rock salt produced in the cave where the stalactites and stalagmites are located is processed in the salt factories located in our city and is marketed as table and industrial salt throughout the country. The “crystal art gallery” project, where statues and reliefs belonging to various periods will be found in the cave by the governorship of Çankırı, aims to bring the cave to tourism, within this framework, salt statues, the first step of the project, are exhibited in the cave. With constant temperature and humidity values, the cave has an environment that can be beneficial especially for asthma patients, studies are continuing to gain health tourism.
