Tekke Arap Dede Mosque - Yozgat Turkey
The mosque is located at the intersection of Tekke Quarter, Çamlık Street and Seyfi Ağa Street. The mosque does not have an inscription. But between the two windows of the last congregation place, aş Mashallah year H.1327 ”is written, which is probably the date of repair of the mosque (1899 - 1900). Because the mosque has a foundation of H. 1 Zi’l - Hijj 1257 / M. dated 14 January 1842. There are two oldest gravestones dated to the grave surrounding the mosque (except the north). Of these, ine H.1262 dated Ismail Agha's wife ”and the other“ H.174 dated Abdullah Efendi's wife olan is the one that belongs to. These two gravestones are the best examples of the mosque built before the foundation date. Harim has a rectangular plan close to the square and has a flat ceiling. There is a semi-cylindrical mihrab on the axis in the south and a wooden pulpit built in the west. To the north of the harim, there is a cove that protrudes towards the north like a balcony. The staircase in the room next to the entrance is reached to the northeast of the last congregation. The pulpit in the west is very plain and made of wood. The preacher chair in the east is a simple establishment resting on thin wooden columns. There are two lower windows on the eastern and western walls and two on the southern and northern walls. There is also a small upper window above the lower windows on the south side alone. There are no ornaments inside and outside the building. The harim is entered with a round arched door whose sides are on the south - north axis. There is a round minaret with a square base in the northwest corner of the harim. The minaret is exited through the gate at the northwest corner of the last congregation. The mosque has a double storey, a very small last congregation, the sides of which are covered with a wall of the harim and a glass front at the bottom. The last congregation place was subsequently divided into two by a thin wall and turned into a room on the east side. Since the building was built on a sloping terrain, the last congregation place remained high above the ground. You can climb here with 5 - 10 steps on both sides. There is a small grave in front and east of the last congregation. The mosque is surrounded by a wall. The mosque has a wide eave with a crushed roof and covered with corrugated tiles. Since the structure is plastered, we cannot have any information about the material. But the minaret is made of yellow cut stone. The ceiling and the floor are wooden. It is one of the important historical places in the province.
