Shirvanli (Azeris) Mosque - Amasya The mosque has a square plan, a single dome and a single minaret. In the construction, cut stone and rubble material were used together. On the northern front there is a four-columned, three-chambered last congregation. The pointed arches on the classical column capitals were decorated with red and white marble and this section was covered with three small domes. The workmanship and motifs on the entrance door made of white marble were not made in Turkish architectural understanding. The tomb is located on the east side of the mosque and is adjacent to the mosque. Again, a large arched door opens through the mosque to the tomb built in square plan. It shows the same architectural features as the mosque. It is covered with an octagonal dome. Next to the tomb there is a grave with four sarcophagi. The marble head of one of the sarcophagi without decoration is decorated with vegetable relief.
It was built between 1873 and 1895 by Sheikh Hacı Mahmut Efendi, who was also from Karabağ, with the aid sent from the Karabakh and Shirvan cities of Azerbaijan and the aid collected from those who settled in Amasya. While most of the mosques in Amasya were built by a statesman or one of the notables of the state, the Şirvanlı Mosque was built by the lovers and followers on behalf of a master, Mir Hamza Nigari. The funeral of Mir Nigari, who passed away in Harput in 1886, was brought to Amasya upon his will and was buried in a plot of land where a mosque was built next to the grave with the help of Sheikh Hacı Mahmut Efendi.
