MALATYA KARAKAYA DAM

Within the GAP Project on the Euphrates, the dam is the second stage after the Keban Dam. It is located 166 km from Keban Dam, 134 km from Diyarbakır and within the boundaries of the Çüngüş accident. The construction was started in 1976 and started in 1987 and finished in 1987.

It has a delegation with the aim of producing energy and has a capacity of 1800 megawatt delegation and 7.5 billion kilowatt hour / year manufacturing capacity. There are six turbines, each with a power capacity of three hundred megawatts, and a greasing unit. The hydroelectric power plant is 184 m tul and 81 m wide. Water storage area is 80,538 square kilometers, annual water flow is 23,554 billion cubic meters. The total water volume is 9.58 billion cubic meters and the reservoir area is 29.800 ha.

The type of concrete arches is weighted and the height from the foundation is 173 meters. Turkey's largest dam is second row.
