Kümbet Mosque Kars

The Apostles Church, located in the inner castle of Kars Castle, is one of the Armenian churches in the city and was built by King Abbas during the reign of Bagrati during the reign of King Abbas between the years 932-937. The church Center is designed and has an upright angle, which resembles four clover leaves, expanding with four niches. Later, in 1064, this church was converted into a mosque and took the Mosque of Kümbet. When the region entered Russian domination, the mosque was converted to the Russian Orthodox Church and when it entered Turkish sovereignty in 1918, it was converted to the mosque again. In 1964, the historical artifacts recovered from the excavations in karsta were converted to a museum. This previous temple, also known as the Kars Museum, continued its function until 1981. It has been used as a mosque since 1993.
