Karapınar Potholes - Konya
The chambers are formed as a result of karstic dissolution and collapse of the ceilings of karst pits. The depths of the potholes can range from a few meters to a few hundred meters. Some of the shape is similar to the cylinder and the bottom is visible, in others the invisible bottom opens into a cave and goes very deep. Some of the chambers have water at the bottom and some have carbon dioxide and sulfurous gases. Some of the potholes in Karapınar are as follows: Small Sekizli Plateau Pebble, Kolca Plateau Pebble, Akören Pebble, Putur Pebble, Half Pebble, Çifteler Pebble, Akobruk, Dikmen Pebble, Big Sapling Pebble, Bath Pebble.
