Cesme is a lovely holiday resort where the healing hot waters and the sand, the sun and the clarity embrace the exceptional quality. Çeşme 94 km. west of the peninsula, bearing its name. It is called the small harbor by the sailors. But due to the abundance of spring waters around Çeşme and its vicinity and due to the fountains where the ice-cold water flows over time, the area was called Çeşme. Making these fountains around these constantly flowing resources has taken place among our old traditions. The name of Çeşme was taken from these fountains which were said to have been around once. All of these fountains have a special feature and architecture. Some of these fountains have remained unspoiled for centuries, and some have survived to the present day thanks to restorations. They are the ones that have to be moved from their places to other places during the road widening works, and many of them have been lost due to their drying out, their natural events or other reasons.
