In the same period, in the Ottoman Empire, such defensive structures were needed in strategically important passages, straits and borders, and in Batumi, Erzurum, Kars and Ardahan after the Crimean War, such defensive centers were brought into the area. In Ardahan, which had a strategic position during this period, it was strengthened with taboos and became an important defense center. Ramazan, Emiroglu, singer, Goose, rock, folk, flat, Mihrap plates and Batumi, Ahiska, Ahilkelek, Kars, Oltu and Erzurum roads were under control.
