Fatah Baba Masjid - Sinop

Fatah Baba Masjid - Sinop
This structure, which originally had a square plan, was demolished in the 1970s in the direction of road widening and the north side was demolished to the south direction and today it has a transverse plan view and the harim part can only fit 2 pure. The façade was built of cut stone and covered with wooden roof and alaturka tile. The mosque was built by Uslu Beyoğlu İsmail Bey in H 754 (M 1353/1354) according to the inscription that was located on the east side of the entrance gate in Hüseyin Hilmi ULUĞ's Sinop Inscriptions which was published in 1923. H 1324 (M 1906/1907) was repaired by the Father Fatah in the year. The repair inscription is located on the door. The mihrab is made of marble just like the Sultan Alaeddin Mosque and it is surrounded by Ayetelkürsi. On the Qibla side of the Masjid, there is a grave of a person named Fetih Muhammed Baba in the garden. As the inscriptions were broken and some of them were lost, it was not understood who this person was and what year he was buried here. There are a total of 2 inscriptions on the front wall, one of which is above the door. The inscription on the door is the repair inscription built by Fatah Baba. The inscription on the west side of the entrance was destroyed and could not be fully read.
