Egirdir Keyhusrev Caravanserai (Egirdir Inn) - Isparta

Egirdir Han, located in the new neighborhood, has the characteristics of classical Seljuk inns. Located 3 km south of the town center, on the shore of the lake, the structure is one of the largest Anatolian Seljuk caravanserais. The building on the caravan road of Konya-Antalya has two sections: courtyard and indoor space. Both sections were demolished. The eastern wall of the courtyard has disappeared and the covering of other body walls that have survived to the present day has been removed and therefore the walls have been considerably thinner. The water seeping into the exposed rubble masonry causes the walls to wear out more. Egirdir Han, 1237 in the II. It was built by Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev. Built in 1237, the inn lost its function after a short period of 64 years. The exact date of the inn is not known. The geometric ornamented piece of stone unearthed as a result of the excavations carried out in the caravanserai in 1993 was fully seated on the cracked ground of the frame of the left mihrabiye in the portal of Dündarbey Madrasah and the composition was completed. During the construction of the Dündarbey Madrasa in 1301, it was certain that the portal was dismantled and moved and that the construction date of the inn was 1237 as indicated in the portal.
