Castle of Iskilip

The castle, which is located in the center of the town and dated to the Ottoman period, is steep and rocky. There are rock tombs belonging to the Roman Period on the skirts of the steep rock where the castle was built. It was built on the natural rock on the northern edge of Kızılırmak in the district center. There is a second door in the castle which is dated to the Seljuk period. Kale is on the trade route from Istanbul to Amasya. To the south of the fortress is the Roman period rock tombs. There are rock tombs belonging to the Roman Period on the skirts of the steep rock where the castle was built.
