CHURCH MOSQUE (SAINT GREGORIUS CHURCH)

St. St. Gregorius Church is one of the earliest Christian works in Cappadocia and is of great importance for the Orthodox world.
The church was built by the Emperor Theodosius in 385. Gregorius Theologos. Then the church underwent various changes, the bell tower was converted into a minaret into a mosque.
Iconastisis, which was made of wood and painted with the root of the church. This work is one of the best examples of wood carving, as well as the Russian Tsar II. Wooden Anbon, cents by Nikola, complements the Iconastasis.
To the north of the garden is the guesthouse of the place of worship. In addition, the clergy would gather here and discuss the problems of the region. Next to the Church Mosque, there is a ground water “Ayazma’ which is descended by 35 steps.
