Located in Karpuzlu District of Aydın, Alinda is one of the important Carian cities. Alinda is reached by a 26-kilometer road that departs from the 30th kilometer of the Aydın-Muğla highway. Although he does not know much about Alinda, according to Strabo; Ada, daughter of Hekatomnos, was expelled from Halicarnassus by her brother Pixodaros. He withdrew to Alinda in 340 and made this city his capital. Alinda is called Aleksandria for a while. During this period, the city of Alinda adopted the Greek cult. M.S. He coined money for himself until the 3rd century. Alinda became the bishopric center of the Aphrodisias Metropolitan during the Byzantine Period.

Alinda Ancient City is surrounded by a city wall. The walls are made of local granite stone. The well-preserved city walls are supported by towers. Aqueducts that provide water to the city are also preserved from time to time. The aqueduct to the west of the acropolis has a round arch, seated on all fours. Today, the most important structure in Alinda is the agora. To the south of the rectangular structure is a market structure arranged as a stoa on the upper floor. The building extends in the east-west direction and has three floors. Theater is located on the southwest skirt of the acropolis. The Alinda theater is situated on a natural slope and the cavea facing southeast is well preserved. The stage building is completely demolished and the theater has Hellenistic features. The theater was also used during the Roman Period. There are two temple foundations in the acropolis, which only have a plan. Among the houses of Karpuzlu, the Carian sarcophagi are documented that the Alinda necropolis is concentrated on the southern skirt of the city.
