ATATÜRK HOUSE -KAYSERİ

The mansion, called Imamizade Raşit Aga Mansion and recently served as the Atatürk House and Museum, is an earlier Turkish house belonging to the Late Ottoman Period which was built in the 19th century. In addition to its cultural importance, the mansion has a historical importance as it is hosted by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Kayseri. On 19-20 December 1919, Atatürk was accommodated in this mansion for two nights, when he first arrived in Kayseri instead of the Board of Directors.

In 1976, the mansion was registered as the Immovable Cultural Property required to be defended. In 1978, the mansion was expropriated by the Ministry of Culture. On 19 December 1998, the second floor of the building was reorganized and started to serve as the Atatürk Museum. The mansion is decorated with elegant furniture and decorations as well as the period and local features of the building. There is a wax statue of Atatürk and documents and photographs about his visit.
